Nobles SWCD Tree Policy
All orders should be placed by March 1st, and are subject to availability. The Nobles SWCD reserves the right to reduce or cancel orders if stock is not available. There is no guarantee of survivability on any tree stock. Other species or sizes may be available upon request. A 20% down payment is required for orders over $500.00
Local and State Cost-share Contracts. Cost-share is available for projects that meet NRCS and local specifications. Cost-share is provided on a first come-first serve basis, and is subject to available funding and timing restraints. Projects using local or state cost-share will need to be maintained for 10 years. The landowner is responsible for weeding, watering, mowing and tree replacement.
CRP Cost-shared Contracts. Cost-share and soil rental payments are available for projects that meet FSA and NRCS eligibility and specifications. Tree plantings under CRP contracts need to be maintained for the length of the contract. The landowner is responsible for weeding, watering, mowing and tree replacement.
Sites to be planted or matted by the Nobles SWCD Projects that the Nobles SWCD are requested to plant need to have proper site preparation completed prior to our arrival. The Nobles SWCD will provide a minimum of one staff person, tree planter, and bare root stock unless noted otherwise. The landowner will need to provide a tractor and driver. Matting requires a tractor with a three point hitch. Additional help may be needed in some cases. The Nobles SWCD does not plant potted evergreens.
The charge for tree planting is $0.20 per tree with a $60.00 minimum charge. The charge for tree matting is $0.45 per foot.
