Tree matting or fabric is available for sale through the District. 3'X3' squares of fabric are available as well as 6' wide tree fabric and landscaping staples. The Nobles SWCD also offers installation of the 6' wide fabric with a machine. Landowners will need to provide a tractor and driver in order to utilize this service. The tree fabric is a black perforated fabric that allows water penetration as well as keeping down weed and grass competition. The reduction in competition as well as other factors allows faster tree growth along with reducing weedling workload associated with newly plated trees.
